Why are there so many episodes left? How are there so many episodes left?

Forgive the lack of a screenshot dump. The episode aired as usual, but while I can easily operate a regional proxy to watch it like normal, the tools I use aren't copacetic with easily ripping a video while doing so, so I rely on normal broadcast/Abema rips, which my usual sources are slacking on, and I'm tired of waiting. Somehow, against all sense, there are still five more episodes to this season of the show, but now it's off for a month, returning in February. Does literally everything about this franchise have to make zero sense? We'll see how I feel about this goddamned thing in a month. If I even remember it exists.

It was a very dull episode anyway. The one girl had hug time with her father, who tells her he ditched her so she could have a 'normal' life (in a doomed simulation controlled by aliens). Arshem took a bath. The government discussed the illegitimate hybrid alien baby which has yet to serve any damn point. And then they all went to the festival where Arshem proposed to whose-his-face, who wandered off for some celebratory yakisoba, and in the interim, got slammed up against a tree, spread-eagled of course, by one of the remaining evil aliens, and convinced to run off with him instead for the greater good. So basically the same as the last five seconds they hooked up about six or so episodes back. Hooray for the status quo. May it rule us in perpetuity.
