Ittoki the Ninja #05 — Genocide For Peace

Please fix your godawful script.

Impressions:

I'm getting fairly tired of this show to be honest, and it wasn't all that good even to start. I feel like it's in large part that every one of these fighting schools this season spends half the episode expositing about their high minded ideals and then proceeds to completely ignore them. Ninjas don't kill. I want a world of peace without killing. I'm a good guy. That's why I mutilate animals, tell my friends to kill themselves in suicide bombings, and slaver in a berserk rage about how much I'm going to be going on a genocidal murder rage against everybody who doesn't obey me. And the school is seemingly aware of all of it, and just plain could not care less. Even the goddamned "no stabbing" rule is something that seems like you get 50 strikes, and then a verbal warning.

Nor is the main character helping anything but just parroting back the idealistic philosophy, making the baddies slaver at the mouth more. I like an idealistic hero who inspires those around them to be better, and pushes himself to the breaking point for it, but these are empty platitudes just being shouted over and over again. They don't mean anything screamed into the void, and particularly not as part of some dumb supervised exam with rules that aren't enforced where success or failure mean absolutely nothing whatsoever. It's just nonsense. And of course one of the random faceless dudes was the traitor.
