Four People and their Lies #02 — Prostitute Attire
October 22nd, 2022
Someone tell Akiba Maid War about that.
Impressions:
Meeeeeeh. Much worse than the first episode. Less cohesive, particularly with the fortune teller bit in the middle which was essentially just "Hey, remember each character's gimmick?" as an aside smack dab in the middle of the episode, but a lot more focus on the crossdressing dude who's honestly probably the weakest and least interesting character of the whole batch, though the straight man telepath is up there too. There just weren't any particularly good jokes like the period thing or tentacles from last week.
Even the ninja was lame and just a vehicle for cosplay. There was also a bit where dressing like a maid made them think she looked like a prostitute. I guess I'm out of touch with the current Japanese cultural zeitgeist. It wasn't even a racy maid outfit. As far as maids in anime go, it was one of the tamest around. But that's a joke to be milked for a minute or two as well.

Maybe because of stockings and garter belts? According to wikipedia:
>Stockings are often considered to be sensual or erotic, both in person and in photographs, and some people enjoy dressing up for special occasions in attractive suspender belts or basques.
