Is it really being pressganged if it's just a pinky promise to behave?
Biscuit Hammer airs super, super late, and was delayed a bit, no doubt because of coverage of Abe's assassination. It might be a while.
Impressions:
A bunch of captured criminals are told "join the Shinsengumi or die." There, I just summarized half the damn episode. Wait, no. A bunch of loud, color coded criminals. You've got doctor, old, fatty, emo, girl, and of course, the main character, shouty. The regular brown haired dude was of course the one that got killed to show that Things Were Serious™, but I say it's because there already was a brown haired dude and you can't have two. I will say that for a couple of the little action scenes, the animation and choreography was decent, but one only lasted about five seconds and was from a distance, so everybody was a bit blobby, and the other a mere ten seconds. Then, for the big finale, he drew his sword and grunted really, really hard. That was it.
So it's slow, and not visually impressive. But… uh, it is an extremely generic premise and does shout a lot. Are those draws? The Suicide Squad thing has been done a billion times before, but usually it's more than just making them pinky promise to be cops. Usually, more effort is spent on showing the criminals being criminally criminal with the recruitment at the end of the episode, not basically the first thing and then making a whole spiel out of the recruitment process, because for some reason, we needed to work in every single character ASAP despite all of them being their own individual flavor of blegh.
