The Vampire Dies in No Time #01 — Meddling Kids

Please stop shouting at me.
I don't like the official translation of the title, but if the show is going to scream it in English at me…
Impressions:
My tastes in humor run either towards the absurdist, things like Galaxy Angel, Pani Poni Dash, (the first season) of Milky Holmes, Potemayo, etc, or to witty, quippy dialogue that is natural to events and stories in progress that have actual substance to them, such as Seizon, Horizon, GA Art Class, even parts of Garou. Not so much laugh out loud as just natural humor interwoven into the narrative. This brand of comedy though is primarily just volume. The louder the shout, the more extreme the reaction, the funnier the joke. He slammed a door and that 'killed' the vampire. The joke is not that the vampire died from a door opening, but that the dude then yelled about it. And the door 'gag' alone is repeated probably four or five times through the episode.
I guess a positive thing I could say is that it certainly blasts right along from one scare-quotes """joke""" to the next, but it's all just so much noise. Not thirty seconds can pass without speedlines being slapped up and someone doing an over-the-top reaction face for the camera with yell, even when it's the exact same thing that happened just a minute prior. It's exhausting at best. Even when this does catch you a little off-guard, like the one dude going "Just like you wanting to be a vampire, I too dreamed of being a pole dancer," it's ruined by somebody else immediately yelling over him "THAT IS A RIDICULOUS COMMENT THAT YOU HAVE MADE!" If that's the humor you're into, go for it. But nothing grates more than a joke you don't find funny, aggressively being blasted into your face at full volume over and over and over.
