Lot of people turning to rocks this week.

Impressions:

What a weird, boring episode. Well, it would have just been hugely boring if not for the very end of the episode that abruptly and randomly killed off the random girl of the week. Quite randomly. As in she literally just tripped over some cursed book somewhere, wandered back to the festival, leaked blood from the eyes, and turned half into rock that fell to pieces. What did this have to do with the other 20 minutes of the episode? Not much! She, uh, had a crush on the gruff dude because he saved her one time? But it's not like he was especially a dick to her or others, and had no problem dancing with her at the end.

And… yeah. That's about all there is to say about this episode. There wasn't a story arc to follow. Just "a school festival is happening, oops, tragic death." I'm not even sure if this is meant to be the first of a multi-part arc around the gruff guy. He was honestly kind of superfluous to the whole thing, and I'm not sure even had more than five lines anyway, so I don't see why we couldn't have gotten through all this in a quarter of the time. Oh right, to save on the budget. Yawn.
