A Destructive God Sits Next to Me #01 — Backgrounds By Powerpoint

Where do they even get all these generic backgrounds? Is there some DVD full of them?

Impressions:

Didn't we have this exact show last season? Except it was a put-upon girl instead of a catboy, and I don't think that it did that thing where every other shot was using one of those generic splash powerpoint slide backgrounds. When I was younger and more ambitious, I would have gone back through the episode and used only screenshots of the power point backgrounds, but time ruins us all. There's nothing here that hasn't been done before, and I would say "hasn't been done better," but I struggle to think of anything that's done it particularly well to begin with.

Overexcited dude makes grandiose, clearly made-up statement, other dude makes a face and/or screams an explanation that the statement was made-up, typically internally so only the audience has to suffer. The closest thing to an actual gag was that the Animal Crossing village was populated by sexual deviants. Somehow, among all the things that it felt the need to explain to the audience, many multiple times, that passes without comment. It feels like there's at least one of these characters in goddamned every school show these days to begin with, so why are there so damn many shows that try to be about nothing but them? Who is the audience that finds these characters anything but obnoxious?
