The black and white with red highlights ain't exactly breaking new ground.

Impressions:

Not really sure what there is to say about this episode. It was very boring and covered no new ground. It took what we already both assumed and had been told, that Dororo was an orphan and the world is full of dicks, and then told the story about how she's an orphan and the world is full of dicks. It's not even told in an interesting way. No monster to create the dream world or flashback, or situation in the present to act as a comparison point to remind her of the past or connect it in any way, let alone show growth and change. Just a flashback dream tossed out, shrugged at, and left behind. But now we know what we already knew. Huzzah.
