Oh, so we're Guilty Crown too, I guess.

Impressions:

Man, Saturdays are not looking hot, but if we're paring things down, the mermaid thing is definitely the first to get the axe, and I'll figure out #2 and possibly #3 next week. This episode rapidly devolved into a stream of exposition and a lot of callbacks to Hand Shakers. It looks like the main direction/character motivation is going to be going on a Hand Shakers tour to rescue or work with various Hand Shakers characters. Not really on board with that. Just cut the cord and move on. Why is he doing this? Cause the heroine from Hand Shakers told him to. You could've made a perfectly fine story arc just out of him being hunted down by super powered people and using the special weapon or whatever with some friend or rando of the week, but no. Apparently that's not self-wanky enough. 

The most interesting bit (loose definition of interesting) comes early, that our protagonist's special power is that he's a Hand Slut, able to go into Magicland with anybody, even accidentally, and their brain gets wiped when they leave, which also potentially explains the friend's idiocy. A few too many times through the brain-scrambler, no doubt. Everything else is pretty rote. One team wants his power to always be in Magicland. The other team wants his power to never be in Magicland and so they can bang like rabbits. One guess as to which is which. I guess the dad is probably some Hand Shakers character too? I have no idea.
