Reincarnation Slime Time #01 — Words on the Screen
September 30th, 2018
Really putting those Adobe Effects to good use.
Early web pre-air, I guess.
Impressions:
In the preview, I expressed distaste for this as yet another fantasy world harem power fantasy with an omnipotent, omniscient protagonist who every throws themselves at his feet for a chance to bask in his glory. The good news is that there's essentially none of that in this episode. Well, there is the omniscient part, as it takes pains to explain at length, complete with giant text appearing on screen every time it throws up what it considers an important term, no matter how banal it may actually be.
The bad news is that it's because there's goddamned nothing at all in this episode. It's about a minute of generic fantasy village burning teaser, two minutes of monologue and overblown stabbing, five minutes of more monologue, and then a single ten minute conversation. That's the entire episode. It gets to the premise in about four minutes, which is already grueling, and then spends the rest of the episode running out the clock. It's like someone slipped in a few pages from a D&D rulebook into the script to see if anybody would notice. Nobody did. An entire conversation of just recitation of powers and tidbits. It's not like they're wasting any artist or animators' time either, because most of the episode, especially the second half, is entirely stills. High quality effort all around.

He’s seems successful & has all his facilities in order, so couldn’t the MC just pay for snu-snu?
