Violet Evergarden #02 — Sadder Girls in Sadder Weather

Yeah, no chance in hell.

Impressions:

If the first episode was flimsy drivel, carried by bloom and pathetic girls standing in wind, this one manages to be even more insubstantial. It adds another girl who distinguishes herself from the titular character by being mousier and more pathetic. And if that's not pathetic enough, they wander out, solely to lament at each other. Bear in mind that the only things that 'happen' this week, giving the word a real run for its money, is that a couple people wander in and throw tantrums. This is supposed to carry the episode. I guess we're just taking most of the days off this season then.

    time for game reviews again, our duckie. Just don’t get discouraged when sometimes people don’t comment to your reviews of obscure eroge rpgs. Its because they don’t know what to say or get their head around one like my waifu is a gaijin Kinpatsu Komainu which has statue foreplay.

    I wonder if the animators spend all their free time playing dating sims, because the only scenes where they get depth of field right are in those person-facing-camera ones. Everything else is an insult to optics, made worse by their amateurish attempt to weasel out of it by going free-4-all on the bloom sliders.
