A Sister’s All You Need #04 — Harleen Weinstein

Impressions:

Yeah, I definitely gave episode 2 of this far too much credit. I have no idea whatsoever the first third was supposed to be. They kind of hauled out Valentines crap, but didn't actually do anything with it. The most notable thing was the 'hilarious' joke where they explained what a summary is, and they announced that they would just use a completely generic one before… reciting a completely generic one at excrutiating length. That in itself isn't notable. The notable part is that it proceeded to consume most of the OP. Better than wasting runtime on it, I suppose, but you're still not getting points for it. 

The second half didn't fare much better. It started poorly, with explaining how taxes work, followed soon after by explaining how expenses work. And yet, that may have been a highlight because it then got distracted into simply listing out various sisters from fanservicey LNs. Then we had a brainstorming session for made-up sister-based LNs that wasn't anywhere near ridiculous enough to be parody. The new character's two jokes are that she's greedy and a serial sexual harasser. Other cultures. And of course, she's splayed like a fish at market in the ED, wearing nothing but a few well-placed rose petals. Which is I think most of the point and content of the second half.

    The part where she mentions that the author of Haganai must be a shameless Lolicon and MC says “YES” was hilarious, obviously it is the same Author so this was pretty much a confession.

      Is it the same author? I laughed out loud there and I’m not sure whether that makes it more or less funny.

    I *wish* she was more of a Harvey Weinstein-esque harasser, an old, weirdly gross super-pervert. But for that she’d have have to actually look repulsive so the audience can actually hate or some crap. Man, fuck this anime so hard.

    the sexual harassment was over the top, but it wasn’t over the top enough to avoid being cringe-worthy. On the other hand, if this show implied she was pleasuring herself with ferns in the office we’d definitely consider that ridiculous and Japan/10, yet…
