Gamers! #01 — Counter-Fight: World Aggressive

July 13th, 2017

An exclusive on the PlayerStation Four.

Impressions:

Yeaaaah. A show featuring a simpering imbecile, latched onto by a pretty girl who's a gaming superstar for absolutely no reason, and it turns out that one of them is a super genius at FPSes despite not even knowing what they are. The other is just a simpering imbecile who spends most of the time screaming in his own head where nobody but the audience can hear. I think that all the effort went into copy/pasting the random fighting game posters in the background. Why they couldn't do that AND steal some Overwatch or CS:GO footage is beyond me. They took about two seconds of Guilty Gear from somewhere, but apparently, if you go past that, you need to start paying royalties or something because it was time to bust out the D team for some extra-shitty faux Counterstrike. On console at that. Against bots. And then being impressed by the K/D. Against bots.

So not exactly for gamers or by gamers, but just the same club haremy garbage as usual, only using generic 'games' as the medium instead of light novels, visual novels, idols, bands, whatever. The humor does not exist. There is no story or drama. The characters are either pathetic flopsweats that have somehow assumed human form or ridiculous wish fulfilment, and I hate all of them. The middle of the week is once again looking quite dire.

Im just wondering why there was a random banana peel in the middle of the classroom floor just for the girl to slip on…

given the author I would have liked to see a lot more rapid-fire humor

Totally different characters but hard to say which MC I liked less between this one and classroom of the elites, both really bad in their own ways.

Even though we all know he’ll join the group by the next episode, I did get a bit of a kick out of the MC rejecting the Prettiest Girl in the Schoolâ„¢, and her completely uneven reaction, since she could probably replace him easily.
