Izetta, The Last Witch #02 — Ready, Set, Wait
October 8th, 2016
Wet dog smell.
Bloodivores decided to go the approach of press conferences, followed by attempted rape (or a robot, no less), followed by monsters who are simply immune to bullets, but they love to spend time showing little impacts bouncing off them or people gasping in horror and shouting about it. That's more than enough of that as well.
Impressions:
This is rapidly losing whatever scant hope I had for it too. The dogfight at the start was… okayish, but it was also constantly interrupted by people self-proclamations. And even if it wasn't still wouldn't have been a visual tour de force. It's the remaining 14 or so minutes of the episode after that which really threatened to put me back to sleep though. The long flashback about the magic of friendship and wet corgis, the continued uber-Jesusification of the princess, and just the plain nothingness of trudging around. At the eight minute mark, the episode and characters pretty much simply stopped, and now we were going to sit around and wait for something to happen. And nothing did. A third of the way through the second goddamned episode is not enough time to take a breather from the action, guys.
