Macross Δ #06 — Distracting Lights and Sounds

May 8th, 2016

How long exactly are you going to hold that donut without eating it?

Impressions:

At least they had a little skirmish this week, so it wasn't as utterly brainless and devoid of anything but handwringing as last week. At the same time though, I'm at something of a loss to say what this episode was for, especially the first half which was yet more hanging around, eating and drinking. The dogfight was only about five minutes of the episode though and entirely consisted of bright flashing lights as the protagonists shot up everybody without ever really being in much danger themselves besides a shouted "I'm in danger!" and then they save each other. Star Fox SOS calls have more weight to them than that. I guess if I had to say it was about something, based on the handwringing at the end, it's back to pretty much the same as last week; war is totes war-y (despite suffering zero personal casualties) and Freyja is totes a traitor (because someone called her one).

I also highly question the military strategy of projecting bright distracting lights of starlets jumping around on asteroids in the middle of a fight. Also, how. Well, at the start, they were a distraction to the enemy, but then they hung around… the creepy… disturbing… giant heads of girls, constantly unhinging their jaws to swallow the mechs hurtling towards them. If there's ever anything that justifies a little bit of friendly fire, it's ending that particular nightmarish assault on the senses.

i want to write about the Song tat the battle start

When they sing “Kiss kiss feel love”, seem like the Voice are alone and the music is somehow out of place. But then with the EGuitar the Voice and Music fit together… even if it was just some seconds, it feel out of place
