I'm pretty sure that test only works once before literally everyone knows about it.
Impressions:
Right now, the main thing this has going for it in Aroduc-land is that it airs early on a weekend, and that everything else for the day looks pretty dismal, although the protagonist making an obscene gesture at someone's back didn't hurt. I think that may have been the first trace of actual emotion that he's showed so far, and then it was gone again as quickly as it came. I also have to wonder just how effective it is to treat infected people with cases of the berserks by holding a pop idol concert and making a bunch of tiny flashing, screaming pop idols dance around their heads, but I'm not a medical doctor, so what do I know? I'm also concerned about the cat-seals. That seems like an utter failure of both evolution and intelligent design.
Unfortunately, the rest of the episode was pretty downhill from there, although easing off on the manic cocaine-addled girl a bit was welcome. While most other shows are content to just go "They're special because… uh… protagonist powers, so recruit them," this has an idol thing to fulfill, so instead went "Let's have auditions and montages… and then we're recruiting them because they're special because… uh… protagonist powers." So what we've added to the process is some montages and putzing around just to arrive at the same place for the exact same flimsy excuse.
