Dagashikashi #06 — Fruit by the Meter

Doesn't roll off the tongue, does it?
Impressions:
Okay, get this. It's candy string that… is sort of like… string! Japan, please. I grew up with string-based artificial froot™ products being able to be anything from a wig to a snakes to a horse. You 'hilarious' situations where they use froot™ string as string, or a ribbon, or rope is not rising to the level of comedy that you apparently seem to think it is. I suspect that the reason that got as stretched out as it was is because they realized partway through the second part that they didn't really want to show any of that, so just had to leave things off with the usual 'joke' that Saya's great at whatever minor thing (and has ridiculously long and bony fingers apparently) and decided to cut that short.
The second half continued this episode and show's downward spiral by going into a particularly long flashback where the main joke seemed to be how Denso has always been dense. You could do so much from the starting premise of playing doctor. How about mad scientist doctor? Or ridiculously overblown soap opera doctor? Or Dr. Sexy MD? I doubt they'd do any of those well, but at least they would've tried something. Instead, we get "she's blushing because she has feelings, but he's too dense to notice. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Saya’s eyes are distressingly beady.
Will return with actual commentary after I get around to the episode.
