Boy, they really don't like drawing dogs, do they?
Impressions:
I'm not sure it's a great idea to so wholeheartedly abandon any semblance of purpose and indulge in shenanigans with a helium-voiced, nasally thing that never stops shouting… in the Matrix. The story and characters actually going somewhere can fill in the gaps so the jokes, exposition, etc don't need to work so hard. Unfortunately, the only direction the first half of the episode seemed to be moving in was "here's a new character that yells a lot." I've got to tell you, Japan, it's not as cute as you seem to think it is. I'd rather see Clarion chasing dogs with benches (Clarion has the bench, not the dog, that'd be silly) than listen to another second of that overdressed abomination screaming through her nose.
The second half was more of the traditionally lame Japanese drawn out expositional schtick that seems designed merely to inform, not provide any true plan of action or greater quest, but probably someday it'll affect characters in some way. Maybe next episode, maybe two months from now. I also have to wonder if it's simply ingrained into the Japanese consciousness that they can't recognize a person if they're dressed slightly differently. We passed the point where it was a joke or some 'silly' magical girl schtick a few decades ago, but repetition is one of Japanese media's strong suits after all.
