Pandora in the Crimson Shell #02 — Big Black Ball
January 15th, 2016
Boss design by HAL Laboratory.
Divine Gate's second episode was angst on top of more angst, and another extraordinarily brief action scene where each participant only got to do one move, so…
Impressions:
At least it's still staying relatively light and fluffy, even after dropping a chunk of building on the rape bait. It badly needs some more change from the couch cushions to fill in the budget that it's lacking. It certainly could have been flashy during the gunfights and laser dodging, but it was having enough trouble finding the budget to shove a half dozen tentacles up a robo vagina. There was also a lot less goofy crap in the background this week, but that could be a factor of how the main goofy crap producer spent a third of the episode stuck inside a giant black ball. Anyway, while the first episode certainly wasn't the best produced thing out there, production did take a fairly noticebable dip.
The script editors also probably need to go through and remove around 50% of the times anybody says "Clarion," especially in the Japanese mangled 5 syllable pronunciation. The whole thing also sort of drifted to a very unsatisfying conclusion to the Kirby Boss fight after the chunk of building fell. You'd hope for some kind of triumphant moment at the very least. Instead, they just kind of strolled up and finish things about five minutes before the episode ended.

Thank god that was a third leg.
