Blood Blockade Battlefront #02 — Total Budgetary Meltdown

That was faster than expected.
Impressions:
Did we really need to begin this with minutes of re-exposition about the setting plus reviewing all the characters, most of which barely even had bit parts in the episode? Well, it’s not like the protagonist has started doing anything either. He can look at things. Magically. And that’s kind of the sum total of what he does. It didn’t help that the ‘action’ this week was so woeful either. A couple lines on a screen and a whole lot of truly horrible-looking CGI cars. Basically like watching someone play Snake on one screen and a PS1 racing game on the other. And then they posed while a thousand impacts hit them before someone else also made a pose and won.
I kind of have the same overall impression as I did of the first episode, they just traded the obnoxious megaphone guy for exposition and multiple weird shots of the road, CGI cars and people, and pans over faces and/or buildings. The action’s still not great and more concerned with poses instead of actual action, and the protagonist is still badly lacking in the ‘agonist’ part of affairs, the comedy annoys, and it’s moving at a snail’s pace. Multiple minutes are spent just getting their car from its garage to the street for god’s sake.
Next Episode:
Yelly starey.
