Impressions:

I groaned more than a little bit when the game’s explanation included liberal use of the phrase “love power.” It’s really kind of a shame too because the actual action sequence of this episode was rather shockingly well-done in parts for how little effort they’ve put into the last month of episodes, but when you begin things by summoning the spectre of ass-pulling before anything’s even begun, it looms over the entire thing, farting and carrying on. I’m not even sure why they had to include the red rover part in the laser tag since they really didn’t use it for anything aside from the very end. Once again, I’m pretty sure they started with the trick and then fabricated the rules around it.

Still, it was easily one of the strongest episodes of the show. Overly enamored with explaining everything to death, but weirdly, the explanations/flashbacks of the trick at the end were punchy enough. Centered around panties, right after one of the episodes many screen-filling  panty shots, so you know… still not getting full points from the East German judge. Well, the action was also a bit brief and segued into talking heads telepathing heads with all the grace of a rhino on rollerblades while really half-assing the animal girl’s side of things, although I’m not sure there was much to be done with the done-to-death “Finally, a real challenge” schtick, especially since characters in this show can’t stop saying it. Perhaps its a mercy that they spent very little time on it, but then, why spend any at all? Maybe that’s going to be the lesson of next week given the singularly awful ending of the episode on a transformation cliffhanger in reaction to a bullet whizzing towards the face while everyone hangs motionless in mid-air, but again, love power.
