Thankfully, not literally.

Impressions:

To give a clue as to how this episode went, it wasn’t until about seven minutes in when they declared “It’s beginning.” A declaration that was a bit premature since the rest of the episode was “hanging out at camp” and talking about how serious things are and how things are under attack or whatever. One would think that might be something someone felt like showing. They’re also continuing to toss a bunch of balls up in the air with the plot while hope that they’ll actually get to any of them dwindles, especially when they start picking at the central conceit of the show. When ignored, yeah, there’s giant bugs. It happens. We really don’t need it to be the inevitable government conspiracy that every goddamned thing seemingly has to be.

I guess the camp was… sort of supposed to be the meat of the episode? It looks like they created it by putting together a random RPG generator table and then just going with whatever came out. Cat-eared mini-‘witch,’ childhood rival in a golf visor, post-apocalyptic punk with stars on his face, medieval samurai, random background girl in a polka-dot tube top. I particularly like how they made a big fuss about how big armor is so bad only for the their leader and supposedly top ranked guy and everyone around him to be wearing half a fridge.
