World Con #10 — Super Duper Cereal

March 15th, 2014

You can tell it’s serious because they’ve forgotten everything about the first few episodes.

Impressions:

An episode with its priorities badly misplaced and then a whole bunch of padding shoveled on top of it. Instead of devoting an episode to stripping down all that is right and good (or whatever) in the world and building up the despair they’re hoping the audience feels, they just timeskip over that in an expository montage before the OP plays and then spend pretty much the entire rest of the episode being emotional about it. These things that we just told you happened are really really emotional guys! Can’t you hear the music? Have emotions!

Okay, so they did actually do the noble sacrifice against the unstoppable evil empire once, but not until halfway through the episode when they had already spent ten minutes being angsty over the formerly-half-joke-employing-costumed-inept-little-girls-which-they-had-already-beaten-dozens-of-times-before-but-now-unstoppable-Sith-Empire. Good god, they didn’t even really do anything particularly unusual to the main characters. The first episode had more ordnance thrown at them than this episode did, but this time was apparently for real and that makes them extra evil. Oh, I guess they kicked the robot, and it had photos. That’s over the goddamned line. Time to become a terrorist! For luuuuuuuuuv.

Next Episode:

I think this gave me diabetes.

What we’ll have now? Guess what? That’s it, fast forward 12 years in the future! Or more!

Probably that guy with silver/white hair in episode 1 is Renge and Asuta son, probably. I hope so. He is, isn’t, please let me believe in this?!
