World Conquest #02 — Captain Domestic

This season is beginning to make me angry.
Impressions:
What is it about Japanese media that not only feels the need to include, but centerpiece the horrible, bland, eternally panicked male lead? Ye lords. His contribution to the team of is that he can do household chores. That’s it. He can cook. Maybe not even clean. And therefore he is an invaluable member of the team and could not at all be replaced by a startled toaster oven with a rat tail taped to the front. Thus passes our first sixteen minutes of the show, barring the reveal that he can cook, of course; we wouldn’t want to overwhelm the audience. He meets the entire cast again, but without their costumes and marvels at… seeing them. Sixteen minutes spent of “OUR CHARACTERS SURE ARE WEIRD!” almost entirely through the internal narrative of someone I want to strangle.
I guess there was more on the female friend being an antagonist of sorts, but I kind of got that after she was lurking around in a costume and mask at the end of last week. I didn’t think that she was doing cardio, guys. The budget took the standard A-1 second episode kneecapping too, and it wasn’t praticularly impressive to begin with. That just leaves Blandy McRatTail bouncing from one unmasked character and going about their mundane daily life character to the next for twenty minutes, because damn, dudes. We’ve got like, 10 more episodes to fill. Can’t blow our load all at once by having anything happen!Â
Next Episode:
Hard hats.
