Unidentified and In-Progress #04 — Cliche Clearinghouse
January 29th, 2014
Â
Ye lords, show.
Impressions:
An episode with an extra helping of melodrama, but that’s okay because they also brought their comedy A game with such jokes as “Benio’s cooking is a censored purple blob.” And it was because Kobeni had the flu, which as everyone knows, mostly just makes you blush a lot and think about your amnesia. If they stuffed any more horrible Japanese media cliches into that first half, they would have started seeping out of the show’s orifaces in a syrupy grey goo.
I guess that means that the second half was stronger by default, but I’ve already kind of forgotten it too in the five minutes it took to sort through the caps and write the above paragaph. About ten minutes of pretty much just trying to be cloying with Kobeni with more blushing and making her flustered probably covers it. So yes, I’m happy to put this as easily the worst episode for this show so far. I keep hoping they’ll just deal with the past stuff and never mention it again, yet every episode gives me reason to believe this will be a thing they’re going to harp on for the entire run and I honestly have absolutely no idea why. Lord knows there’s not enough else going on here to fill the time.
Next Episode:
Assaulting children on the playground.
