Vee Bee Ess Vee #06 — Hank Hank and His Hank

July 7th, 2013

Why is Hank the only one with any real enthusiasm anymore?

Impressions:

Have I mentioned that I hate Hatred? However many times I have, and since it’s episode 6, I’m guessing it’s at least eight, it bears saying again. I also wasn’t buying the whole Teddy Ruxpin schtick either. It was already a repeated joke from… the torture episode? But here it was just stretched so far past the bounds of credulity that no amount of handwaving could overcome and for what? That lame punchline at the end? And yes, I get that they like the whole disjointed plots that come together thing, whether or not one throwaway joke counts as ‘coming together,’ but it makes for a lot of episodes that are just kind of all over the place, like they couldn’t think of enough content for a full episode and instead got three gimped ones with Hank’s insane clown posse being the only one I think I had any interest in.

The end of the episode also fell into the same constant “What a twist!” barrage of last week’s, using those instead of humor, bar a few more villain references. She’s not their mom! Everybody knows about Dermott! Oh, and I hate Dermott too, although he was only mildly annoying this episode. I don’t see anybody creaming their panties over his ‘Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur.’ Maybe it’s because KyoAni’s not animating it. Dean continues to be insufferable too. Hopefully he’s going to finally stop doing nothing but complain and ponce about, but I kind of doubt it.

Next Episode:

Villain disco.

Nothing more classic than 3 idiots (and a robot) busting into a bank, yelling “WE ARE INSANE CRIMINALS”, and attempting to hold people up with a 5.56mm loaded sock.

At least we got to see Orpheus.
