Gargantia #05 — The Quest For BBQ Sauce

May 5th, 2013

And all it took was some anal discomfort.

Impressions:

Like the lesbian surf pirate slave lobster harem, or however those words are supposed to be arranged, I hope that this episode will convince people that this show is… uh… not having of the much brain power applied. I’d probably be more annoyed at its blatant time and space filling overly wacky silliness, but like the surf lobster slave lesbian harem pirates, attempts to be wacky and forego all sense are at least something distinctive about it, which by and large the show has otherwise lacked when it decides that it needs to spend vast swathes of the episode staring at the architecture.

Then again, to chart this episode’s progression, the quest for something to do turned into a beach party with all the females stripping down to their bouncies. Then Red was sent off on his own quest where he was accosted by an entire parliament of the station’s sweaty, hairy drag queen population who chased him off a broken stairway and nearly killed him, if not for the nearby morotized hanggliding girls who were there to catch him. Able to return to his job, he finds a dark old woman in the bowels of the station. He hands his order over to her and she gasps in disbelief and bids him quietly follow her. At this point, he is apparently raped by drag queens off screen, but triumphantly returns with the honey bbq sauce, thus saving the luau.

I expect to write this exact summary of the plot for Valvrave in a week or two.

Excuse me, Aroduc, but the protagonist is a silent bishounen from space and there are darker themes present. That’s all it takes for a lot of people to furiously touch themselves over how awe-inspiringly subtle, deep and thought-provoking this show is. Not even all the beach episodes of this world will change anything about that. It even has the excuse of being a “calm” anime. That triples the maturity!

    The Clam before the Storm?

and this Tower, where they chase him the broken chairs up, looks out of Place. Perhaps this is Lost Tech, and nobody knows it, and the Main actor will find out in the Future.. It can be a Weapon or a Giant Antenna

  • emm…sorry for being out of topic, do this guy stopped reviewing the “Working Demon-Lord”?

Except people actually get butchered in the midst of all the retardation that is VVV. And teen drama.
