Impressions:

Answering the question of "Can they ever give the melodrama a rest, even for a generic, cliche school festival (setup) episode" with a not terribly surprising no. That "watch Aikatsu and call it this" plan is looking better and better, but honestly, I pretty much just dozed through the episode, so it was kind of like just extra morning naptime for me. They even skipped the OP and tossed in yet another working together montage with insert song. That’s how super serious this episode was. I am exaggerating, quite a bit actually in this case as it wasn’t as bloody melodramatic as most of the episodes are, but I’m still not sure how long it’s been since I’ve watched a show with such a joyless, melodramatic, angsty cast.
