Fourteen Sick Wants Love #03 — More Abuse of the English Language
October 17th, 2012
I don’t know. Is it easy for you to talk in English?
Impressions:
The first half was a little overly spastic. Basically the thinnest premise possible tossed up to let Rikka wave her umbrella around. At least doofus snuck off to go ogle the cheerleaders, perhaps the first time besides his wet dreams that he’s shown actual interest in anything. Of course, now that the one he keeps having big boy dreams of fiveways with her and her clones over is directly coming onto him, I have no doubt that he will go running screaming for the hills. The playacting with the whole troupe getting into it wasn’t bad though. Anything that gets the show further from the wet towel helps.
The second was concerned with Rikka’s disciple, Sanae’s intro some really horrible singsong Engrish. I’m not sure I’d know how to answer "What do you think of yourself" either, honestly. It’s like one of those demented interview questions where you are asked about your true nature. Maybe it was supposed to be "What do you think of, Rikka?" which still doesn’t make a great deal of sense. "Yes" seems like a perfectly acceptable answer there regardless of understanding. Anyway, Sanae’s fairly annoyingly cloying too, but just about anything’s better than Yuuta. Probably mostly due to the obnoxious speech tic. It could’ve used more hair flails too. I’d rather see more of her messing around and playfighting than Yuuta, but they could stand to take it down a notch or two. Like Rikka, she’s less written to be a character and more a little too obviously fabricated for marketing purposes.

No big sister, not worth my time.
Rikka talking in elvish would work better than the obnoxious bullshit she is spouting.
