To think that the cold open had me intrigued for even a moment…
Little Busters #03 began with a minute straight of shots of background and recycled footage. Then it went on to introduce two more of the girls by way of internal monologue and/or external monologue. Needless to say, I was not amused and that makes three boring as hell episodes in a row. I’d rather rant about how AIC is defiling Seizon than be bored out of my skull. At least in theory. We’ll see how I feel after its second episode actually pops up… whenever the hell that’ll be. I’m still mad about YJ too.
Impressions:
This was all over the place, but never actually good. It was like it blazed through the first three or four episodes of a bad Jump adventure show, which just highlights how much chaff there is. Friend dies, be recruited by princess, seduce her man-hating archer by stripping her, and lose fight against perverted monk. What creative happenings. It was at least amusingly horrible in places, such as when Pinky exploded in clothes destroying orgasm from watching him fight, but only figuratively, apparently. You’d think a show paying lipsevice to video games would at least have a little more fun in it, but no. Apparently this is meant to be taken seriously, aside from the random orgasms and sex jokes from the Tetris monk.
Good thing too. I’d have hated to actually see the fight. That would have probably taken some effort on their part. Speaking of which, this was clearly not an OVA that cost them much money to make. Even with JC Staff priming me with their cheapness, this was still very much on the low end of production in both technical production and direction. The cold open was easily the high point in every way and it was all downhill from there without even the grace to look good in the process.

gotta go fast
That was surprisingly boring. Cracked up at Mario and Yoshi though (27.jpg)
