I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Margaret.

I don’t normally ask where OVAs come from or how they appear since I don’t pay a great deal of attention to schedules, but apparently in this case, the answer is "through China."

Impressions:

I really do not like how they handled this at all. There was the usual bland infodumping up through Izanami’s reveal and the eating of the party. At this point, instead of going all Myriad Truths, we instead go into a Groundhog Day loop until Margaret slaps him out of it and it’s time for her optional boss battle. So… uh… not exactly the boss battle I was expecting, and even against Margaret was pretty bad. She snaps her book on a card, Persona appears and makes a dramatic pose, pick-me-up from a Social Link, Yuu uses a card, Persona appears and makes a dramatic pose, repeat a half dozen more times, ‘battle’ over.

And then after ‘defeating’ HER thanks to everybody’s power combined, he gets the magical rock and confidence that apparently makes him immune to Death Hands, and also coincidentally can wipe out Izanami in one attack so that everybody can live happily ever after. Okay, technically two, but I’m not convinced that first slash actually did anything but perhaps annoy Izanami. And me. The waterfall in that dream world was also remarkably horrible, and having Yosuke wake up with his head wreathed in flowers cannot have been an innocent coincidence. I think we all know exactly who Yuu spent Christmas Eve with.Y
