The Ambition of Oda Nobuna #04 — Weak To Side Boob
July 29th, 2012
Although the breastplate is clearly squishy, so I don’t know why he didn’t just grab that.
Impressions:
Significantly better than the last couple episodes in just about every way. Nobuna continues to be the weakest link in her show, once again having some hormonal temper tantrum being the crux of events and then for the fourth time in as many weeks, learning to trust in Saru again by the end of it. The show could really stand to focus on some other characters. At least it is keeping things episodic instead of totally overblown, but it badly needs to either start actually giving her some lasting development that isn’t reset by the start of next week’s episode or just send the focus elsewhere for a little while.
Anywho, the episode was about half split with them finally touching on how much he’s changing history as he knows it and half on the battle against Imagawa at Okehazama, although they didn’t do a particularly convincing job here about how hopeless the battle was supposed to be for Oda. The animation even took a few jumps upward this week too, although it’d be nice if the show could start developing an actual antagonist or two after this instead of just defeating CG enhanced soldiers. Either Ieyasu or Nagamasa would probably work there. It’s just hard for fights of the week to be particularly exciting when they’re always against generic grunts, even after they go "history’s changing now!"
Preview:
Dogs and little girls. The usual.

Lovely action. If only Hagure Yuusha has this much action then it’d undoubtedly be the best anime of this season. But it didn’t have such fortune so I guess for now SAO is still the best, with decent action (better than Hagure but beaten by Nobuna), and decent plot (much better than Nobuna and slightly better than Hagure)
Don’t know and don’t care about the rest, for they either have beta wimps or full of scantily clad women so couldn’t take them seriously. Dog Days may be an exception but the plot is just… urgh…
