Love Songs #02 — Censored Snakes

July 9th, 2012

Why?

Impressions:

Significantly worse than the first stories. Nothing like 20 minutes of a snot nosed whiny brat. "Girls are yucky. I wanna learn swords. Everything annoys and/or bores me. You don’t really understand how I feel!" Etc etc. It was just really generic and fairly annoying throughout. The only interesting thing, to be very generous with the term, was the censored snake. Not entirely certain why it was censored. That was probably supposed to be a ‘joke,’ but it’d be far funnier if they were censoring the phallus hats instead.

I guess I’ll glance through next week’s, but I’m already kind of tuning out and can’t see it doing much to change my mind. An episode per story does work better than the half episode chunks from last week, but this one suffered from a really annoying lead for it and a particularly cliched and moronic story. I wasn’t all that enamored of the first episode to begin with. It needs a lot more added depth and emotion to the stories instead of a bunch of people lounging around with the progress and end results always being fairly obvious for each one so far.

3 Shouts From the Peanut Gallery

  • ShuffleAir says:

Whoa. I’m surprised Aroduc is even giving this show three episode to impress.

So are you gonna do a weekly wrapup for all the Summer shows soon?

    • Aroduc says:

Only three shows air from Monday to Wednesday, and I can’t really get excited about Yuruyuri.

And yes, I was going to post it tomorrow probably since it’s a day off. Everything (but one) actually aired in 8 days for once. It’s a miracle.

  • Athos says:

He did say most of the 100 poems are love stories, but they are bound to be pick some tragic ones, like the very first one.

I dunno about the tsundere brat, but I liked the love interest this time. I don’t know why I’m such a sucker for these one-off love stories, but I am, so I honestly hope it doesn’t start to suck real bad.
