Needed a lot more deathbread.

Impressions:

I don’t know. I’m just not feeling it. Pinky’s side remarks are definitely supposed to be the main source of the humor in the show, but I almost feel like it’d work better without her trying to interject context or explain things. The world is more amusing when it’s weird, not with little explanations about how some guy is transparently ambitious or that chickens are chicken. She’s not as obnoxious as most protagonists are, but she’s not helping the show at all either. It really needs to revel in its weirdness in order to be funny, not meander from joke setup to joke setup, spending 5 minutes on each one.

Episode can be summed up as chickens were evil, but they’re also ultimately useless. It seems like something that could really have been played off for laughs a lot better, almost a Crab People-esque thing in their inane plotting, but it was all just really fell flat again without any bread explosion at the very end to put me in a better mood before I began writing this week. The glasses adjusting joke was also both painfully obvious from the start and then drawn out for far far too long. Hopefully it can find some of that more visual humor again next week.
