Dusk Maiden of Being-Groped #08 — Nothing Happens

May 27th, 2012

And then we’re back where we were 30 seconds from the end of episode 7.

As mentioned last week, Aquarion’s broadcast is delayed almost an hour and a half this week due to soccer or something, likely more. It might take a bit.

Impressions:

Poor episode even for this show. Kirie spends a while explaining what amnesia is and then Blockhead tries to ‘move on’, which unfortunately means spending time with the most annoying characters in the show doing absolutely blood nothing. That includes Kirie who was PMSing like it’s an olympic sport. Blockhead’s whole thing about not caring whether she remembered him… something that had no point anyway since they outright showed Yuuko’s jealousy still remained through random psychic attacks… or possibly teleportation. Let’s try to work on that composition, eh?

All this is leading up to him saying he actually does like her after all, then gropes her thus restoring her memories and bringing this particularly dumb 20 minute arc to its moronic conclusion. The only thing it accomplished is establishing that the male lead likes the female lead. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could’ve ever seen that one coming. I dread to wonder what this means they’re planning to end the show with.

  • The Phantom says:

is not the part when the shadow (the real yuko) gives to her false amnesic carefree persona part of her memories back missing? The end part does not make much sense without it (it doesn’t make much sense with it anyway xD).

  • uburoi says:

You know, one day, Aroduc is going to say something really positive, and the world will end from the shock.

Well, technically, it happened here about four years ago, but he must have been sarcastic. I mean, first it was Sekirei, and second, the world didn’t end. QED.

But seriously, yes, it’s not measuring up to the better moments of the manga. It is, however, living down to the worst.

When a ghost chooses not to bother you anymore, you move on to other targets, not go back.Themla and shaggy told me this.
