Impressions:

Wow. They took my complains about last week and listened. They nearly doubled Shana and Yuuji’s screen time to a record breaking five minues. It’s not like anybody wants to see what the entire series has been building up to, the main characters fighting over the Wind Fish’s Egg. No, of course not. Why would we when we could see Yoshida sitting on a demon horse, or generic denizens getting blown up, or Disco Skeleton? Although this screencap made me chuckle far more than it should’ve as I was sorting caps. That whole bit was so horrible. He even did the Wile E Coyote "run in place while in the air" thing. I shouldn’t complain though, it was probably the most entertaining thing that Shana’s done in all of 2012, maybe even 2011 too. I have so few good memories of this season of it.

Still, if the show had actually given me a reason to care about a single one of these random Flame Hazes jetting around or doing bad cartoon/Indiana Jones impressions, it would’ve been a pretty good second half. At least they finally got the production quotient about where it should be for these fights and drilled down a little more onto Girl-Jetting-Around and Guy-With-Hat instead of a montage of basically random people exploding random things. See, Shana? Focusing and cohesion are good things. If you had actually developed these characters and given a single reason why them fighting mattered in the slightest, maybe I wouldn’t have spent most of this post making fun of you.

Of course, ending with all the Flame Hazes smirking and going "Ha ha, standing around here doing nothing was all according to plan" immediately sent me right back into sarcasm overdrive again.
