Not Really Another #02 — The Lemon of Pure Terror

January 16th, 2012

I’m out of analogies for what this would be if it were trying any harder.

Non-Impressions:

…I’m out. I made it as far as "This lemon looks like it’s HORROR, but it’s not, it’s trying to hide because the world is HORROR." And this came right after the pre-OP intro which was an utterly inane scene composed of a torrent of flower petals and "IT BEGINS." What begins? Oh wait, OP’s playing, scene doesn’t need to make sense. Time to forget all about it and get to class. Oh sure, then while I was sorting these out, I saw that next week’s episode title was Bone Work, which is almost a hilarious enough reason to watch anything, but I think I’d rather leave my final memory of this as the terror lemon.

Between this show, Jump-level jokes at a stellar pace of one per two minutes… half of which I’ve already seen for the next few weeks…, and a show whose second episode was 90% sitting around a table and 5% "tee hee, I’m naked again," I think that I’m happy to just give Mondays a pass this season. Yuck.

Preview:

Not one bit of this appears to be Bone Work.

Aroduc doesn’t like it so much he drops it, this show could turn out to be hilarious.
You know you didn’t like Madoka either :)

  • NoName says:

I knew you were going to drop it. The manga is also the same, not interesting at all. I’m still surprised that they decided to make an anime out of that thing.

    • AGear2Ax says:

An a film they are making isn’t it? 2 episodes the classmates haven’t told anything about what happens and already something wrong happened but nobody is bothering to try to explain or give a hint…

      • mousoukyoku says:

They have a reason not to explain anything, but you won’t get to know why until the end of the first half. Even more dragging as a novel, even though it somehow makes sense in the end. Or rather the end i.e. the solution is the best aspect of the novel, which of course doesn’t justify the horribly protracted first half…

  • Nan says:

The lemons are terror because they’re GODDAMN COMBUSTIBLE LEMONS AND THEY WILL BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN.

    …it had to be said.

  • KL says:

This blog trolls hard. Nothing get’s a good review.

  • Wilfriback says:

OMG! The eyepatch is hidding the Sharingan!

  • Yukipon says:

    When life gives you lemons…

  • KL says:

Also, you’re missing out on a lot of symbolism and foreshadowing. Think past the end of your nose and you might learn something instead of thinking up clever ways to complain.

  • The Phantom says:

Well for now all is setup but hopefully PPL will start dying next episode.
