Impressions:

This episode got progressively more and more stupid as it went. I’m not even certain whether I mean that as a pejorative or a simple statement of fact. There wasn’t any of the action from the first few episodes, but I guess it also toned down the stupidity of events in motion too, even while upping the stupidity of characters to levels that should have them wearing safety helmets and forced to wear swimmies. It began with her transferring in while acting like a mentally invalid, progressed through the military doing ‘jokes’ about spying on girls swimming, they all have magical marks on their erogenous zones,then everybody became waitresses, lesbian jealousy flared, and we end with Lan transferring into the class too. Madoka’s final contribution to the episode was seriously "Eh!? EEEH!? EEEEEEEEEEH!?" I wish I could slap the stupidity out of her.

The primary focus was on introducing Muginami, but the facade she’s putting on would get her stuck on the special bus on most shows. That still puts her a step above Kyouno "My mech’s green so I’m naming it Green!" Madoka. There was also a little bit about how there’s another faction and previously-supposedly-evil-bishies are actually stuck in a wrecked ship and somewhat helpless/frustrated, but I expect that to be given about the same amount of development as the rest before they get distracted again and reveal it was all a Skrull plot. This show could really use an actual antagonist instead of a bunch of people trying to be mysterious about their motivations.
