Shana â…¢#07 — Meanwhile, At Mos Eisley
November 18th, 2011
The only thing that bar was missing was a cantina band.
By the by, things will almost certainly be a bit delayed or staggered tomorrow. ISP switching in the morning, so depending on when they show up and how long it takes, well… yeah. Fun times all around.
Impressions:
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. Another episode of almost nothing but exposition and even more review, and much of it by characters I stopped caring about years ago. Get moving again already. Every goddamned thing does not need to be explicitly spelled out and certainly not at length. If you can say it in one sentence, there’s no need to spend minutes on it. Storytime between Khasim and Yoshida about love and monsters, complete with storybook drawings was just… why. It even started with "Long, long ago." But hey, they added bloom to it. Way to really use that CG, JC Staff. The only thing of particular note were Hecate’s attack, which consisted of three shots. The first of which Shana sprained her ankle dodging, the second put her into the bed with her legs exposed then spread open (which is probably what made Yuuji come running), and the third was blocked by a pillow. Apparently it was a very very hard pillow. I’m also a little curious about who did Shana’s hair and pierced her ears for her at the end. Unfortunately, I suspect that the answer is probably Yuuji.
Who knows, maybe they’ve just been saving up the budget for the attack finally beginning next week. Maybe Shana will leverage the power of pillows and do something besides dressing up and getting her hair done. Or maybe they’ll just shoot fireballs at buildings and people will remark on how cruel they are.
Preview:
Someone finally shoots something.
