Maken-ki! #09 — Spandex

Oh boy, another swimsuit episode, but this time, with all identical ones. And no bear. Great.

Impressions:

I think two shows a day is about my limit for suffering. When there’s a third show to watch and it’s something even genuinely amusing, I lack the drive to… well… care. I viewed it while gnawing on a sandwich. It exists. The most notable thing it did was celebrating the males discovering the technology of Ladders. This is also the second swimsuit fetish episode for the show. Have they really run out of ‘material’ already? I guess there’s the threat that Venus will finally do something at the end, but I don’t think the show even remembers what its premise was to begin with. It took them until the end of the water-cavalry thing for them to remember that they have a hydrokinetic on their team. That seems like something somebody should probably have noted prior to three minutes left in the episode.

    I said it before, I’ll say it again: this is the Freezing of this season. In so many ways. Bleh.

    Is true hasreezing had psychopaths, dismembermet, and animation.
    But for they is only fanservice no more
    Makenki = freezing jajajajjaa is a joke it ?

      More of an understatement. I have a deep, intense disgust for how badly Freezing is written (it’s a very accurate step-by-step guide how not to write a series), and my dislike of this is about 1 tier less. Despite its many drawbacks, this series just doesnt try as hard at being an abomination.
