This is a bonus included with the latest Take-Moon volume that CP is based on. It’s twenty minutes long instead of the usual 10 minute deals, but there’s only one episode. I’m not really sure why the change in format for here. Also, in my defense, it was actually released about 3 days ago but only appeared on the internet now. I forgot about it/assumed it was just some voiced slideshow deal when it didn’t turn up right away. *shrug* Also, I sort of watched this in snatches while being lectured on how to use BLAST for the second time this term. My education these days feels like 90% recap. I’d say it was a more productive use of my time, but I usually spend it translating or editing when I don’t need to pay attention. Aaaanyway…

Impressions:

As glad as I am to see the Ataraxia characters getting some screentime, they’re really shafting the Tsukihime side here. Len did a little schtick and both the brief intro/outtro bits were parodies of Aoko’s scenes, but even the unfortunately long Phantasmoon sequence was invaded and taken Kaleido Ruby. Those Phantasmoon bits aren’t getting any better by making them longer. Nrvnqsr had a couple short bits too, although jokes about his name? And for Kagetsu Tohya, an endless dream mostly ending with Shiki dying, all you can come up with is super squadrons of Lens? Come on, Lerche. I expect wanton violence, or at least a wonder twin power/fusion dance out of that. The Len bit was amusing, yes, but as a dedicated Len player, I’m probably not impartial.

Caren and the already bizarre Ataraxia universe with her pet Servants was quite amusing at least, particularly when bitchslapping Lancer with a wad of cash. Repeatedly. Her general doujin personality always tends to be fun though, even in Battle Moon Wars. Probably could have done without the camera nearly literally jammed up Bazett’s butt though. Taiga and Ilya, remained, as always, Taiga and Ilya. Just make them magical girls and take over the next Phantasmoon segment. Please.

Next OVA/Special is Lupin III very early Friday morning or very late Thursday night, depending on your orientation. I will remember this one.
