A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives #10 — “Oh Crap, The Show’s Ending Soon!”
September 9th, 2011
Cohesion? Who needs cohesion?
Impressions:
Oh, I see that we’re done with the slow pacing parts and are going to rubber-band back and jump through about eight different things at a breakneck pace once again. This show may as well be made by Seven Arcs for all the pacing problems it has but at least they cover both the excessively fast side as well as the excessively slow. Let’s see what we had this week… Instead of continuing from where the last episode left off, we suddenly leap forward into the future where everybody’s already gone home (weren’t they supposed to slay some dragon before they could leave?) and Taito is just now deciding to shoot Haruka down when they all find out that Haruka’s been kidnapped, which he jumps to the conclusion that this was the price for that wish he had granted which gave him a magical cat that he hasn’t used. My head hurts just thinking about that entire sequence of events. Oh yeah, and the ‘antagonists’ who kidnapped Haruka? They’re actually taking orders from her alternate personality who has now become suicidal. I feel like there’s an entire episode or four that we missed.
As always, this could potentially be a lot more interesting if anybody be sides the ones who kidnapped her had any idea that Haruka was an agent for genocidal moon gods. That would at least add some depth to what’s going on besides a boring damsel in distress angle made worse by Himea continuing to mope around insecurely until wandering straight into the most thinly veiled trap ever. It’s also funny that Gekkou is apparently stuck fighting Hazama in a meaningless battle while Taito is up against the ‘antagonists’ and assumably Gekkou’s brother who should be lurking around somewhere. Or maybe he just packed it in and is chilling with the moon gods these days.
