Impressions:

Disappointingly, Akari did not remain traumatized from Chinatsu’s tongue-lashing last week, nor for all of the focus on Chinatsu, did they return her to a lesbian sexual predator. It was back to mostly the usual antics, only this time based around art. I guess Chinatsu’s creepy works were kind of okay, but GA Art Design set the bar fairly high for any comedy around artwork and this show wasn’t doing much of anything to threaten its position. It was more amusing to see Kyouko show up in an Akari mask to steal her spot in the show intro.

The second half was split between playing with clay, which I guess was supposed to be a continuation of the art stuff. It had a few moments, mostly centered around Kyouko torturing Akari’s clay head or clay creations, but again, it was a pale imitation at best. Then it shifted entirely for the last quarter or so and had another one of those sudden character rewrites. For some reason, Chinatsu now she has no problems dressing up as Mirakuru to appease any little brat nor does Kyouko particularly care about it or try to take advantage of it in any way. Consistency is apparently for suckers. At least we got a break from Chitose for an episode, thank god.
