Twin Thief Angels #03 — Lesbianism Ahoy!
July 18th, 2011
Every pachinko game adaptation is eventually all about lesbians. No exceptions.
Impressions:
The touching story of a Rie character who learns to not be so combative and to love the main character. How original. Okay, so it’s usual not going from a monogomous lesbian relationship to becoming an indiscriminant lesbian with hopes of a threesome, but whatever. I’ll try not to repeat myself, but everything I’ve said about the past two episodes still holds. The show still flounders somewhere close to parody without ever committing enough to actually cross the line and genuinely be a comedy. It remains more fun to just point out the one or two completely FUBAR things each episode than actually watch it.
The show needs to ditch all these attempts at emotion or plot and just lose itself in weird filler stuff because that’s something that it does do right. Not tremendously right, but Misty Knight, Salome, and mentally making lesbian jokes are single handedly carrying about 98% of the show. I have no idea what that fight between Misty and Salome’s underling even was. One pulled soap out of his speedo, threw it at the other, who caught it with his foot, and then started rubbing himself with it. Then, when we finally cut back to their fight, he was still rubbing himself. I have no idea what was even going on there, nor do I suspect I want to know.
