Impressions:

I guess it was okay, but two things really undermined it. First, like many of the ‘action’ episodes before in this show, it was almost all just named characters wailing on grunts. The cats got to mostly do it this time, but the characters used were still at almost completely random. Hell, it was some random never-before-seen soldier dude that took out the entire bunny corps. Also, since Rico continued merrily (rather merrily for being naked) flying on her way after taking an arrow straight to the gut, I’m still waiting to see how they plan to waffle their way through these weapons actually doing real damage to fulfill that stupid prophecy.

And on to that, the ending that came out of bloody nowhere and made no sense even for this show. There was a massive tone disconnect in general starting when the melodrama-storm moved in and everybody started having traumatic flashbacks. Then Leon had a really bizarre dream about being on a floating chunk of rock while a chimera ate Milly… which proceeded to come true. Well, being on a rock with some kind of dark chimera descending. I expected some version of an ass-pull like this, especially after Milly showed up to fight Leon in Shinku’s place, but I would have thought it would be because she was using a weapon she shouldn’t or magic rips from too much something-or-other, but instead we just have a sudden storm and then the last boss-apparent flying in out of literally nowhere. And I can’t take it seriously when it looks like it came straight from terrorizing Kirby.
