…Why Does Cyclops Need Laser Guns?

April 8th, 2011

Apparently the answer is because in this version, his optic beams have been replaced by optic death rays that obliterate everything in front of him. But only his enemies. There’s no collateral damage at all. The second episode did little to change my opinion of the show. The CG car/motorcycle chase was painfully generic, although it was quite amusing when they outright forgot to animate characters talking. The other ‘fight’ this week against an over-mutated… thingy… was little more than stills of Cyclops looking tormented about shooting it while it crushed Storm. I swear. Cyclops’s power may as well be melodrama. The rest of it was the usual Madhouse-Marvel bleh of people standing around motionlessly talking to each other with especially hammy voice acting on top of it, not to mention the other things that make this show completely impossible to take seriously.

I honestly think it is weird seeing anime studios animating western comics, is kinda like if hollywood made a dragon ball movie or something. oh wait…
