Everyday Life #02 — Cake Hand

April 9th, 2011

The least menacing supervillain.

Impressions:

I decided to give this another shot because the first episode wasn’t all bad… and because I flipped through it, saw a segment about Mio accidentally loaning out gay porn she drew, and decided that perhaps there was hope that this show could tell a few decent jokes yet. That was a mistake. Like the first episode, while there were certainly parts of the episode that were decent and showed some actual creative direction, the vast majority of the episode was as dull as dishwater. Again, the lon interstitials between segments just make all the characters blankly staring at each other to fill up space all the more evident. I think the music also got even more Disney-ish this week too.

So I think I’m calling it quits here. I may give it a couple minutes again next week, but with Dog Days having a really strong episode and ToraUsagi being far more fun to mock, this is a distant third to me.

  • Barry Sanders says:

sorry bro this episode owned you have the worst taste in the world

  • DMZ says:

Bleh… just finished watching it. I don’t like bad humour trying to be forcibly fed to me, it makes the show painful to watch. Not my kind of show. Passing on it as well for the rest of this season.

  • Yeah this was definitely not funny at all. I don’t think I managed to laugh once throughout the episode.

  • Chen says:

This show’s humor is too sophisticated for me. I am but a simple man.

  • yuuji says:

its like the “NOT FUNNY? HOW ABOUT MORE? FUNNY NOW?”

  • Itheunknown says:

Actually I liked this episode, it’s the best I watched this season (i.e. much funnier than A-Channel or Dog Days, but that probably doesn’t mean very much.

Now I want to watch Madoka 11 too badly…

  • Rei says:

I don’t know what your problem is but I think the anime is a bit funny. It’s ok and the anime mainly focus on the moe part.
