Mitsudomoe #16 — Little Boys in Pink Underwear
January 22nd, 2011
You’re no Hiroki Komachi, Satou.
Impressions:
Maybe this show is only going to be good on alternating weeks this season. This was a hilarious episode thanks to a return to a lot of physical comedy instead of hammering the misunderstanding card into the ground with slightly different faces or rearranged characters each time. It was five parts too, so they kept things humming right along. Satou’s continued corruption was easily the best segment of the lot, but Chiba did well in his segment too. The bits with their father were probably the worst, but they had a few moments. I don’t even want to think about what Futaba eating her dad’s beard implies. That sounds like some kind of terrible euphemism of… I don’t even know what.
The first part was Futaba wanting porn books, so manhandled Satou into being her critic and model. The second part was an earthquake drill at school with Yabe accidentally bludgeoning Hitoha into submission and then using disgusting sweaty Mitsuba to put out the imaginary fire. Ew. Three was just another one of the segments with their dad slowly becoming more naked as the segment went on. I really didn’t need his giant ass covering the screen. Fourth was Chiba perfecting his lightning bra-unsnap technique, then realizing that no girls in the class wear bras. When it came out that two might, love triangle speculation developed before he was defeated by the power of swimsuits. Finally (whew), another misunderstanding about a photo of their father which Mitsuba tried to play off as her dating some mysterious man.
