Impressions:

I really didn’t expect to say this, but this was a hilarious episode of Mitsudomoe, possibly up there with its first couple. Sure, the only thing it had in common with the first 13 episodes was the name "Gachi Rangers," but it was (mostly) a great sentai parody. It did take a few minutes to find its legs since the jokes surrounding the villains were a lot weaker than when it started making fun of the Gachi Rangers themselves, but after focus switched, it had all the creativity and variety that the original run lacked. In fact, I think that the biggest mistake this episode made was not playing the faux episode off as what the Gachi Rangers really were.

Also, it had a toothy crab vagina shooting foam. Maybe in another series, I’d be reaching to make the sexual joke, but I don’t think so for this one.

I will say that the production and music don’t seem quite as good as I recall from last season, and obviously, your mileage may vary on the humor since this was pretty much all parody, something that Mitsudomoe had long since abandoned. It does give me hope for the rest of this run though. Wonder of wonders, perhaps Bridge did learn from their mistakes and can breathe some life back into this show yet. Or maybe they’re just getting my hopes up to cruelly dash them against the concrete. I give both even odds.
