A Certain Magical Index II #11 — What’s My Name Again?

December 17th, 2010

Too late, you’re a bloody heap.

Watching this show first thing in the morning after I wake up is the best decision I’ve ever made. I just drift in drowsy bliss whenever people start rambling.

Impressions:

Also helpful because this episode was dull to the extreme, which certainly wasn’t helped by the art being really really off-model this week. The only thing of major note was that Oriana literally randomly bumped into Aisa, noticed she was wearing a cross, and exploded her chest for it. But then one remembers that she hasn’t been relevant to the plot for the last… I think we’re up to nearly forty episodes now stretching across three years. Even Touma barely cared after throwing his hissy fit over Seiri getting hurt. She didn’t end up a bloody mess on the sidewalk either with a nicotine addled teacher arranging pebbles around her to try to bring her back to life.

Otherwise, it was almost all padding. Hell, it wasn’t until eight minutes in that Tsuchi called Touma and reminded him that there was an arc going on and that they should be getting back to it. The show didn’t, of course. It had to remind people why they should care about Aisa when she’s randomly offed five minutes later. Tsuchi didn’t really either. Oriana showed up and fell backwards on her ass with her legs sprawled for him to jump into her crotch, but he went for the thighs instead. I think the sunglasses are restricting the flow of blood to his brain. There was sort of a fight too but it was brief and the winner obvious before it began. Loathe as I am to admit, Oriana’s tube-top seems invincible and will probably continue defeating her breasts for the rest of the arc.

Weren’t you grievously hurt two episodes ago?

Still following the novels for the most part.

    She got better.

  • Kaisos says:

And here I thought some explosions would be good for you, Aroduc.

    • Aroduc says:

I approve of anything that reduces a Noto character to a pile of blood, but there was still no point to it, and Touma barely seemed to care after his big dramatic “Now it’s serious” thing when Seiri was apparently minorly inconvenienced.

  • Twi says:

Himegami really deserved better. And more screentime. And a date with Touma.

  • Anonymous says:

    who´s aisa?

  • Nanaya says:

That was probably the closest to a ‘daaww’ moment that I can have when Komoe was trying to replicate that healing ritual from the beginning of the series. How naieve.

  • Solaris says:

Touma cares for Aisa, but, as usual he is in the way of any healing spell, so he had to leave.

What a pile of shit of a show. Too bad the blonde(s) + Kanzaki have to be in the wrong show, they can be soooo awesome if given the main character status… Anybody besides that dumb fuck Touma whose skill pretty much revolves around his lame fapping hand or that mentally retarded loli nun or that flat chested tsundere hoe biri-whatever or that faggot red head who thinks he’s badass by smoking cheap-ass cigarettes… There are just so many good side characters in this shitty show that weren’t given their rightfully deserved attention and we, or rather I, have to instead bear with those one-dimensional boring to piss main cast…

  • SOSAnimeBoy says:

I don’t watch this show (haven’t caught any of the seasons) but that girl looks too cute to have been mauled that way. Bad boob girl!!

  • Anise_Punter says:

Needs less tsunblob Mikoto, needs more violence against Kuroko Mikoto.

I thought it was a pretty good ep, though I am afraid you are correct wrt Oriana’s tube top of ludicrous strength.

  • Sporklord says:

Oriana was clearly threatened by Aisa’s bust size, and decided to kill her before she got any bigger.

“Otherwise, it was almost all padding”

Comments like these are very appropriate for arcs that are basically throwing big tit characters in by the dozen.

  • The Phantom says:

Definitely himegami deserved more than this, she supposedly moved in to touma’s house but was almost never showed again, it seems like they randomly picked a side character for more silly drama.

This arc has been an absolute snorefest, can they stop running behind the cup-F-girl of the week?

    • Twi says:

Himegami moved in with komoe soon after since three was a crowd.

    • Solaris says:

Himegami is clearly the real only unlucky one in the whole show. Touma should learn from her what unluckyness really is :P

By the way, why the most action packed arc so far is deemed a snore fest? It should be a run against time to stop whatever the magicians whant to do before it’s too late.

Moreover it’s weird enough nobody still questions who the hell is that other nun in white.

@Twi: Are you the same one at Baka Tsuki?

  • Yue says:

    Ah, the gore… ^^;
